what is the diffrence between a regular calf size (in tall horse back riding boots) and a medium?

ok so i'm looking for horse-back riding tall boots on sale and are still good quality.
and i stumbled upon very good horse back-riding boots. and you will get $30 off if you are a size 8 medium.
so here's the thing ,i am a size 8 regular and there is a size 8 regular and a size 8 medium.
what is the difference?

Boots come in narrow, medium, and wide foot widths just like shoes do. The calf size is usually a separate measurement. I am sure it is different according to brand, but usually an 8 medium refers to the "shoe" size, and not the calf.
