Is the square toed shoe diss-able?

I just picked a shoe company and went to the site, Ecco, and almost all of their dress shoes and many casual shoes for men have a squared off toe. This seems odd to me because I thought squared toe was out of style. In my opinion a squared toe if not too big and just near the tip doesn't look that bad, I may be wrong though.
