Do you burn more calories walking in high heels than you do walking in flats?

Because yesterday I was wearing my high-heeled boots for the first time this fall, as it is started out chilly. Since then, I wore flats. Today my feet and muscles legs feel oh so bad, as I do a workout or something. So is wearing high-heeled boots are your leg muscles work harder and therefore burn more calories while walking? Is this why women still wear high heels have toned legs?

Heels certainly be part of your muscles work harder when you're not used to them.
