How do I style hair straightened with a flat iron?

Hello,
I’ve started straightening my hair with a flat iron and use the gels/serums to prevent damage beforehand, but after the hair is straightened using the straightener what would I use to style it? I couldn’t wet it again and put gel in it could I? Thanks!
